  • CaMaRose Lama Tweed

    CaMaRose CaMaRose Lama Tweed

17 in stock Shipped within 1 business day

CaMaRose Lamatweed Llama wool is an exclusive natural product. Llama wool is lanolin free, light, and strong. The hollow construction of the fibers gives an unusual, good insulation capacity.Viscose, also called Rayon, is a natural product made from the plant material cellulose. Viscose has a silk-like expression in both shine and softness and is particularly suitable for absorbing moisture. It is flecks of viscose in different colours, that gives the tweed effect in LAMATWEED. The flecks are mainly in natural colours, such as off-white, beige, brown and black, which adds a fine look in your knit and crochet work.LAMATWEED has, like LAMAULD, a rustic look. LAMATWEED has, with its content of viscose, a moderate shine at the surface and is softer than LAMAULD. The two qualities can replace each other and be worked together. The spinning and the tweed technique entails, that some parts of the thread have small variations of thickness in LAMATWEED. This contributes to the classic tweed look.LAMATWEED is, with the rustic look, high insulation capacity, strength, and softness of the yarn, particularly suitable for children, classic sweaters, cardigans, outerwear, and blankets. The spinning of the yarn entails, that LAMATWEED first unfolds completely, when knitted and washed. A knitted and washed swatch is therefore recommended, to get the full impression of the quality, look, and softness of the yarn. The flecks can give surplus fibers in the work process. The main part of these fibers is washed out at the first washes. Material LAMATWEED from CaMaRose is a very soft, rustic and 1-threaded yarn with a fine, harmonized shine and tweed effect.LAMATWEED is spun from 40% llama wool, 40% clean new wool and 20% viscose, a silk-like natural material. Gauge The length is 100 meters per 50 grams. The recommended gauge is 17-18 sts x 24 rows and the recommended needle size is 4.5 - 5 mm.The colour chart in LAMATWEED is specially made for CaMaRose, based on colours occurring in nature. You can see the whole colour chart on this page. LAMATWEED from CaMaRose is produced in Peru.

  • Isager Highland

    Isager Isager Highland

    Shipped within 1 business day

ISAGER HIGHLAND is spun from Peruvian sheep wool. The yarn is characterized by its lovely colors which are a mixture of different shades dyed into the wool before it is spun. The Highland yarn is not spun as tightly as Tvinni and therefore it is a softer yarn, which can still replace Tvinni and Alpaca 2. In softness and durability this yarn lies between these two yarns. The yarn is well suited for structured patterns and it does not twist when worked in the round. Highland works really well on its own, but can also be knitted together with our other yarns. Shipped within 1 business day

Merilin Meaning "Mer"-ino and "Lin"-en, ISAGER MERILIN is a 3-ply yarn made from a blend of 80% wool and 20% linen. As the yarn is 3-ply it works really well in textured patterns. It is a very soft yarn and can be used by many who are otherwise allergic to wool. The linen fibre places itself smoothly over the wool and this gives a lovely melé effect to the yarn, as the linen does not absorb the wool dye. The yarn works well in children’s garments. • Isager Jensen

    Isager Isager Jensen

    Shipped within 1 business day

Isager Jensen - Ase Lund Jensen's Legacy, modernized. Originally, Isager Jensen Yarn was named ÅLJ after knitwear designer Åse Lund Jensen. In the 1960s, Åse Lund Jensen sold handknitted sweaters, she knitted in a heavy Swedish yarn. The heavy weight of the finished garments made shipping costs outside Denmark much too expensive, and this led to a new cooperation between Åse Lund Jensen and the Danish spinning mill, Henrichsens Uldspinderi in Skive. Together, they developed a lighter 3-ply yarn, ÅLJ and introduced it in a new natural color range which Isager is still the base for our Jensen Yarn, Spinni and Tvinni. The white wool origins from New Zealand, and the brown and grey wools used for the s-colors origin from Gotland sheep in Europe. The supplier in New Zealand is a brand partner of the Wool Integrity program that ensures that the principals under this program such as animal welfare, environmental sustainability and traceability are met. Follow this link to read more about Wool Integrity: https://www.woolintegrity.com/Jensen yarn is chemically dyed but based on the color range of natural dyes Åse Lund Jensen chose for her yarn. The colors 0, 0s, 2s and 3s are undyed and unbleached. All other colors are Oekotex 100 colors from Europe, but since the spinning mill in Skive has not been certified, the product can’t carry the Oekotex 100 label. As this is a 3-ply yarn, it is a firm and evenly spun yarn well suited for texture knitting as it allows the texture to stand out well. The yarn is very durable and wears out beautifully in the same way as Tvinni. We recommend this yarn especially for indoor and outdoor garments.
