    Isager Isager Alpaca 2

    Shipped within 1 business day

Isager Alpaca 2 ISAGER ALPACA 2 is a two ply yarn which consists of 50% wool and 50% alpaca. This yarn’s main feature is its softness which makes it very suited for baby garments and any item where soft feel is preferred. Used individually this yarn is also beautiful for an adult cardigan, but one should take into consideration that due to its softness this yarn is best suited for models not exposed to too much wear and tear. A soft yarn will never be as hard wearing as a yarn spun from a firmer wool which may also have been spun tighter. On the other hand, this yarn is very well suited for scarves and knitted together with our other yarns.  Recommended Gauge Alpaca 2: 3 mm needles = 26 sts / 30 rowsAlpaca 2 + Alpaca 1: 3 mm needles = 24 sts / 28 rowsAlpaca 2 + Alpaca 2: 3,5 mm needles = 20 sts / 26 rowsAlpaca 2 + Silk Mohair: 4 mm needles = 18 sts / 24 rows Material 50% alpaca and 50% woolMeterage: 250 m in 50 g Two ply yarnSpun and dyed in Peru

  • Isager Highland

    Isager Isager Highland

    Shipped within 1 business day

ISAGER HIGHLAND is spun from Peruvian sheep wool. The yarn is characterized by its lovely colors which are a mixture of different shades dyed into the wool before it is spun. The Highland yarn is not spun as tightly as Tvinni and therefore it is a softer yarn, which can still replace Tvinni and Alpaca 2. In softness and durability this yarn lies between these two yarns. The yarn is well suited for structured patterns and it does not twist when worked in the round. Highland works really well on its own, but can also be knitted together with our other yarns. Gauge Highland: 3mm = 26 sts / 30 rowsHighland + Alpaca 1: 3mm = 24 sts / 28 rowsHighland + Alpaca 2: 3.5mm = 20 sts / 26 rowsHighland + Silk Mohair: 4mm = 18 sts / 24 rows Material 100% woolMeterage 275 m in 50 gThe yarn is spun and dyed in Peru

  • Isager Hoer Organic

    Isager Isager Hoer Organic

    Shipped within 1 business day

Isager Hoer Organic ISAGER HØR ORGANIC is a 100% linen yarn that is perfect for warmer weather.  A favorite yarn for summer garments in Denmark, it can be used individually with two or more strands held together, or it can be knitted with other Isager yarns. However, do not knit in the rounds as the garment will skew. When working a knitting technique with this yarn, e.g. a structure pattern or a jacquard pattern in a two or more colored pattern, it can be knitted in the round. The colour range has 6 colours which blends perfectly into our shade card – and the colour combinations with other Isager yarns are endless. The yarn consists of 100% organic fibres but the dyes are non organic – with the exception for the undyed colour Linen, of course. This yarn is the fine alternative for people with wool allergies. Recommended Gauge Hør Organic: 3 mm needles = 26 sts / 34 rowsHør Organic + Alpaca 1: 3 mm needles = 20 sts / 24 rowsHør Organic + Alpaca 2: 3,5 mm needles = 18 sts / 22 rowsHør Organic held double: 3,5 mm needles = 19 sts / 20 rows Material 100% linenMeterage 356 in 100 g Spun from organic fibersSpun and dyed in Italy

  • Isager Jensen

    Isager Isager Jensen

    Shipped within 1 business day

Isager Jensen - Ase Lund Jensen's Legacy, modernized. Originally, Isager Jensen Yarn was named ÅLJ after knitwear designer Åse Lund Jensen. In the 1960s, Åse Lund Jensen sold handknitted sweaters, she knitted in a heavy Swedish yarn. The heavy weight of the finished garments made shipping costs outside Denmark much too expensive, and this led to a new cooperation between Åse Lund Jensen and the Danish spinning mill, Henrichsens Uldspinderi in Skive. Together, they developed a lighter 3-ply yarn, ÅLJ and introduced it in a new natural color range which Isager is still the base for our Jensen Yarn, Spinni and Tvinni. The white wool origins from New Zealand, and the brown and grey wools used for the s-colors origin from Gotland sheep in Europe. The supplier in New Zealand is a brand partner of the Wool Integrity program that ensures that the principals under this program such as animal welfare, environmental sustainability and traceability are met. Follow this link to read more about Wool Integrity: https://www.woolintegrity.com/Jensen yarn is chemically dyed but based on the color range of natural dyes Åse Lund Jensen chose for her yarn. The colors 0, 0s, 2s and 3s are undyed and unbleached. All other colors are Oekotex 100 colors from Europe, but since the spinning mill in Skive has not been certified, the product can’t carry the Oekotex 100 label. As this is a 3-ply yarn, it is a firm and evenly spun yarn well suited for texture knitting as it allows the texture to stand out well. The yarn is very durable and wears out beautifully in the same way as Tvinni. We recommend this yarn especially for indoor and outdoor garments. • Sale -4% Isager Merilin

    Isager Isager Merilin

    Shipped within 1 business day

Merilin Meaning "Mer"-ino and "Lin"-en, ISAGER MERILIN is a 3-ply yarn made from a blend of 80% wool and 20% linen. As the yarn is 3-ply it works really well in textured patterns. It is a very soft yarn and can be used by many who are otherwise allergic to wool. The linen fibre places itself smoothly over the wool and this gives a lovely melé effect to the yarn, as the linen does not absorb the wool dye. The yarn works well in children’s garments. Gauge Merilin: 3 mm needles = 26 sts / 32 rowsMerilin + Alpaca 1: 3 mm needles = 24 sts/ 30 rowsMerilin + Alpaca 2: 3.5 mm needles = 22 sts / 26 rowsMerilin + Silk Mohair: 4 mm needles = 20 sts / 24 rows Material & Construction 80% wool and 20% linenMeterage: 416 m in 100 gThree-ply yarn]Spun and dyed in Peru

    Isager Isager Palet

Palet ISAGER PALET s a matte, thicker ‘summer yarn‘ than Bomulin, and it adds an interesting structure when worked together with other yarns. The yarn works well alone but also held double while knitting with other yarns, for example SILK MOHAIR or other summer yarns such as TRIO, JAPANESE COTTON, ALPACA 1 and ORGANIC HØR. The ribbon-spun yarn also gives a nice effect once knit up. The colors in this yarn are close to the colors found in the TRIO yarns. • Isager Silk Mohair

    Isager Isager Silk Mohair

    Shipped within 1 business day

Isager Silk Mohair ISAGER SILK MOHAIR is with its blend of 25% silk and 75% super kid mohair a beautiful, soft and shiny yarn with a light and fluffy structure. We use it primarily together with other yarns, but it is also beautiful used individually perhaps especially in a simple design. A structured pattern will not show in this yarn, unless the Silk Mohair is knitted together with another smoother yarn. As Silk Mohair is soft and fluffy, some shedding must be expected both while knitting and from the finished project. The shedding will deteriorate in time but please consider with which garments Silk Mohair is worn. Isager Silk Mohair is of finest quality with long fibers which reduce shedding.  It is arguably the softest yarn we carry at Kani Kettu.
