A Knitting Life - Out into the World Do experiences in life transform us as human beings? Places where we live; conversations with people we meet; traveling to other countries; attending special events. What transforms and informs a craftsperson? A Knitting Life – Out into the World is the second book of three in which Marianne Isager reveals her knitting life through five decades. It wasn’t until the 1990s that Marianne Isager truly began exploring the world. In this book we follow Marianne on her travels to Latin America, Africa, Greenland, and Nepal. On these travels the gates open wide for an abundance of inspiration. Not just the patterns of textile, baskets and pottery, but also architecture, landscapes and all of those wonders that will fill your mind and soul when you first visit a new place and experience the traditions, the food, the people, and the history of the country creeping into the core of your body. As in the first book a number of her previous and most significant designs are presented, many of which reflected the fashion of the day. This book also contains 16 new designs with knitting instructions based on the inspiration from her travels, all of them combining craftmanship and yarn of high quality. During these years filled with traveling, Marianne’s home village, Tversted in the northern part of Denmark, remains the anchor in her life. Tversted is also the home for the yarn company Isager which is owned and operated by Marianne Isager and her daughter, Helga Isager. A Knitting Life - Tokyo Tversted Do experiences in life transform us as human beings? Places where we live; conversations with people we meet; traveling to other countries; attending special events. What transforms and informs a craftsperson? A Knitting Life – Tokyo Tversted is the third and last book in which Marianne Isager reveals her knitting life through five decades. Marianne writes in the foreword for the book:“For my Confirmation my Uncle Niels gifted me two beautiful Japanese wood cuts. This present awoke my interest in Japanese art and later, when Japanese fashion designers entered the Western fashion world, my curiosity for this fascinating country grew. In 2001 I met my husband, Nels, who at that time lived and worked in Tokyo; this was the beginning of 15 years of commuting between Japan and Denmark but also the beginning of many enriching experiences. My knitting is always inspired by the things going on around me, experiences from daily life and from travels. My long stays in Japan became an important source of inspiration. This book is about my life in Japan and what inspired me on this journey.” Currently in Pre-Order Only Learn more about the book on Isager's website: https://isagerstrik.dk/en/collection/a-knitting-life-3-tokyo-tversted/ Release date: December 1, 2023Number of pages: 192 Patterns in this book

CaMaRose Lamatweed Llama wool is an exclusive natural product. Llama wool is lanolin free, light, and strong. The hollow construction of the fibers gives an unusual, good insulation capacity.Viscose, also called Rayon, is a natural product made from the plant material cellulose. Viscose has a silk-like expression in both shine and softness and is particularly suitable for absorbing moisture. It is flecks of viscose in different colours, that gives the tweed effect in LAMATWEED. The flecks are mainly in natural colours, such as off-white, beige, brown and black, which adds a fine look in your knit and crochet work.LAMATWEED has, like LAMAULD, a rustic look. LAMATWEED has, with its content of viscose, a moderate shine at the surface and is softer than LAMAULD. The two qualities can replace each other and be worked together. The spinning and the tweed technique entails, that some parts of the thread have small variations of thickness in LAMATWEED. This contributes to the classic tweed look.LAMATWEED is, with the rustic look, high insulation capacity, strength, and softness of the yarn, particularly suitable for children, classic sweaters, cardigans, outerwear, and blankets. The spinning of the yarn entails, that LAMATWEED first unfolds completely, when knitted and washed. A knitted and washed swatch is therefore recommended, to get the full impression of the quality, look, and softness of the yarn. The flecks can give surplus fibers in the work process. The main part of these fibers is washed out at the first washes. Material LAMATWEED from CaMaRose is a very soft, rustic and 1-threaded yarn with a fine, harmonized shine and tweed effect.LAMATWEED is spun from 40% llama wool, 40% clean new wool and 20% viscose, a silk-like natural material. Gauge The length is 100 meters per 50 grams. The recommended gauge is 17-18 sts x 24 rows and the recommended needle size is 4.5 - 5 mm.The colour chart in LAMATWEED is specially made for CaMaRose, based on colours occurring in nature. You can see the whole colour chart on this page. LAMATWEED from CaMaRose is produced in Peru.

Tynd Lamauld Are you a yarn enthusiast, someone who can appreciate the artistry of knitting, and the tactile pleasure of working with exceptional fibers? If so, let us introduce you to TYND LAMAULD, a yarn that promises to take your knitting experience to the next level. TYND LAMAULD is not just any yarn; it's a work of art in itself. Crafted with meticulous care, this yarn is spun with a single thread, revealing its true beauty and softness when knitted and washed. To fully grasp the marvel of TYND LAMAULD, we recommend knitting and washing a swatch – this is where the magic unfolds. What sets TYND LAMAULD apart is its unique blend of 50% llama wool and 50% Peruvian Highland wool. The result is a yarn that's both soft and rustic, with fibers that have natural variations in length. These varying fiber lengths might seem like a challenge, but they're actually a hidden treasure. When you knit with TYND LAMAULD, you'll find surplus fibers in your work, which add to its texture and character. Once you've created your masterpiece and given it that first wash, you'll discover another delightful surprise. Many of those surplus fibers wash out, leaving your creation even softer and cozier than you imagined. It's a yarn that truly gets better with time. But, as with any love story, there's a twist. TYND LAMAULD, due to its thickness and single-threaded spinning, has a tendency to twist when worked in the round in stockinette stitch with a single strand. It's a characteristic that might require a bit of extra attention, but the end result is well worth the effort. Now, let's talk specifications. Each 50-gram skein of TYND LAMAULD boasts an impressive 220 meters of yarn. To bring your vision to life, we recommend a gauge of 28 stitches by 40 rows, using needles sized between 2.5 and 3 mm. The possibilities are endless, and the results are bound to be magnificent. But there's more to TYND LAMAULD than meets the eye. This exceptional yarn is closely related to its sibling, LAMAULD. In fact, two strands of TYND LAMAULD can be used as an alternative to, or alongside, LAMAULD, giving you even more creative freedom. Now, let's dive into the heart of TYND LAMAULD – the llama wool. These fibers are an exclusive, natural marvel. They're lanolin-free, lightweight, and incredibly robust. Their unique hollow construction lends them superb insulation capabilities. In fact, llama wool is significantly warmer than your average sheep's wool, making it perfect for classic Nordic knitwear, shawls, scarves, baby blankets, and any garment that demands both strength and warmth without added bulk. Gauge Recommended gauge: 26 - 28 sts x 40 rows.Recommended needles: 2.5 – 3.5 mm. Material Materials: 50% llama and 50% wool.Weight / length: 50 grams = approx. 220 meters.Wool wash, max 30°C / Lay flat to dry. Spun in Peru.

Isager Alpaca 2 ISAGER ALPACA 2 is a two ply yarn which consists of 50% wool and 50% alpaca. This yarn’s main feature is its softness which makes it very suited for baby garments and any item where soft feel is preferred. Used individually this yarn is also beautiful for an adult cardigan, but one should take into consideration that due to its softness this yarn is best suited for models not exposed to too much wear and tear. A soft yarn will never be as hard wearing as a yarn spun from a firmer wool which may also have been spun tighter. On the other hand, this yarn is very well suited for scarves and knitted together with our other yarns. Recommended Gauge Alpaca 2: 3 mm needles = 26 sts / 30 rowsAlpaca 2 + Alpaca 1: 3 mm needles = 24 sts / 28 rowsAlpaca 2 + Alpaca 2: 3,5 mm needles = 20 sts / 26 rowsAlpaca 2 + Silk Mohair: 4 mm needles = 18 sts / 24 rows Material 50% alpaca and 50% woolMeterage: 250 m in 50 g Two ply yarnSpun and dyed in Peru
