Knitting for Olive - Merino Wool Merino Wool - 50g Our merino wool comes from sheep bred in Patagonia, where mulesing is not practiced. The wool can be traced directly back to the farm it comes from. In this way, we know exactly which farm, farmers, and sheep made our wool.Merino wool has many excellent properties. It is temperature-regulating. That is, the wool keeps our bodies warm in cold weather, and releases heat in warm weather, keeping our skin cool. At the same time, wool, like silk, can carry moisture away from the skin, and can absorb 30% of its weight without feeling wet.Wool is also dirt-repellent and requires minimal care. The yarn is STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certifiedThe yarn is produced in Italy. Our spinning mill follows ethical, technical and environmental standards, creating yarns free from harmful chemicals.

  • Isager Highland

    Isager Isager Highland

    Shipped within 1 business day

ISAGER HIGHLAND is spun from Peruvian sheep wool. The yarn is characterized by its lovely colors which are a mixture of different shades dyed into the wool before it is spun. The Highland yarn is not spun as tightly as Tvinni and therefore it is a softer yarn, which can still replace Tvinni and Alpaca 2. In softness and durability this yarn lies between these two yarns. The yarn is well suited for structured patterns and it does not twist when worked in the round. Highland works really well on its own, but can also be knitted together with our other yarns. • Knitting for Olive Soft Silk Mohair

Knitting for Olive Knitting for Olive Soft Silk Mohair

    Shipped within 1 business day

Soft Silk Mohair Knitting for Olive Soft Silk Mohair is a luxurious blend of the finest Kid Mohair and Mulberry silk. Our Mohair comes from angora goats bred in South Africa, and the yarn is also produced locally. Our yarns are traceable back to the individual farms, which means we know exactly which farms, farmers, and goats our wool comes from. Our Mohair is certified sustainable and RMS (Responsible Mohair Standard). The yarn is produced with high respect for animal wellbeing, and with social responsibility. Our spinning mill follows ethical, technical and environmental standards, creating yarns free from harmful chemicals. The Silk in our Soft Silk Mohair is cruelty free. The silk fibres are collected from cocoons after the chrysalises are allowed to mature into moths and escape. This means that the silk worms are not killed in the process as they are in conventional silk production. The yarn is STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certified. We advise that Mohair is not particularly suitable for children 1 year old and under, since the lightweight Mohair fibers, while perfectly safe, can cause mild irritation if babies get them in their mouths. Knitting for Olive Soft Silk Mohair can be used together with a strand from a companion yarn.

  • Isager Soft Fine

    Isager Isager Soft Fine

    Shipped within 1 business day

Isager Soft Fine With its softness and brushed feel, ECO SOFT has become extremely popular, and we decided to introduce a similar but finer version. ISAGER SOFT is a tube yarn of cotton in which alpaca fibers are infused and it can only be produced as a thick yarn. ISAGER SOFT FINE has a core of silk on which a strand of alpaca and yak is added as a loopy bouclé, which is then finally brushed to make a fluffy yarn. Even if the production and the fibers are different to Isager Soft, we find quite a similarity in the textures of the two yarns. ISAGER SOFT FINE contains wool from yaks and the depth of the colors derives from the dark color of the yak wool, – exactly as we know from the S-colors of white and black wool. Its softness compares to Silk Mohair, knitting with this yarn, however, is a completely different experience, especially when knitting with one strand only. The yarn is unbelievable soft and our inhouse-name for this yarn is ‘Isager’s cashmere’. Tukuwool Tukuwool Fingering

    Shipped within 1 business day

Your long-awaited Tukuwool Fingering is finally here! We gently renewed the yarn base for smoother quality and softer handfeel. In August 2023, we welcomed a brand new era of knitting with the launch of Tukuwool Fingering, a renewed Finnish wool yarn. This yarn has undergone a transformation that has left us truly excited, and we couldn’t wait to share it with you!The most notable changes are new labels and the skein size, now coming in a generous 100 grams per skein, double the previous size. Alongside this, we made a slight adjustment to the meterage, now 370 meters per 100 gram. These changes weren’t just for aesthetics; they were about efficiency and sustainability. We wanted to create a yarn that not only looks and feels great but is also produced with minimal waste. The result? A yarn that is not only more sustainable but also boasts a consistent quality and a texture that feels natural yet softer than before. Now, you might be wondering if these changes will affect your knitting projects. The answer is a reassuring “no.” The shift in meterage subtly influences the gauge for Tukuwool Fingering, but it’s so slight that your trusty old knitting patterns will work seamlessly with the updated yarn. But that’s not all! We’ve also taken the opportunity to breathe new life into Tukuwool Fingering color palette. Alongside the beloved classics, we’ve introduced a few trendy, fresh shades that are sure to inspire your creativity.100 % Finnish Wool50g = 185m/202yds
