    CaMaRose CaMaRose Lama Tweed

    Shipped within 1 business day

CaMaRose Lamatweed Llama wool is an exclusive natural product. Llama wool is lanolin free, light, and strong. The hollow construction of the fibers gives an unusual, good insulation capacity.Viscose, also called Rayon, is a natural product made from the plant material cellulose. Viscose has a silk-like expression in both shine and softness and is particularly suitable for absorbing moisture. It is flecks of viscose in different colours, that gives the tweed effect in LAMATWEED. The flecks are mainly in natural colours, such as off-white, beige, brown and black, which adds a fine look in your knit and crochet work.LAMATWEED has, like LAMAULD, a rustic look. LAMATWEED has, with its content of viscose, a moderate shine at the surface and is softer than LAMAULD. The two qualities can replace each other and be worked together. The spinning and the tweed technique entails, that some parts of the thread have small variations of thickness in LAMATWEED. This contributes to the classic tweed look.LAMATWEED is, with the rustic look, high insulation capacity, strength, and softness of the yarn, particularly suitable for children, classic sweaters, cardigans, outerwear, and blankets. The spinning of the yarn entails, that LAMATWEED first unfolds completely, when knitted and washed. A knitted and washed swatch is therefore recommended, to get the full impression of the quality, look, and softness of the yarn. The flecks can give surplus fibers in the work process. The main part of these fibers is washed out at the first washes. Material LAMATWEED from CaMaRose is a very soft, rustic and 1-threaded yarn with a fine, harmonized shine and tweed effect.LAMATWEED is spun from 40% llama wool, 40% clean new wool and 20% viscose, a silk-like natural material. Gauge The length is 100 meters per 50 grams. The recommended gauge is 17-18 sts x 24 rows and the recommended needle size is 4.5 - 5 mm.The colour chart in LAMATWEED is specially made for CaMaRose, based on colours occurring in nature. You can see the whole colour chart on this page. LAMATWEED from CaMaRose is produced in Peru.

  • Sale -21% Isager Spinni

    Isager Isager Spinni

    Shipped within 1 business day

SPINNI is a single ply natural wool. In the olden days in Iceland this yarn was hand spun and preferably so fine that a finished shawl could be pulled through a finger ring.Spinni is not quite as fine and we use the yarn in many different ways. When used on its own it is very suitable for lace shawls and one of its qualities is that it keeps its shape, so a scarf or shawl will not ‘collapse’.As Spinni is a single yarn spun in a single direction, it is not really suitable for knitting stocking stitch in the round. The knitted fabric will have a tendency to skew. If working in the round in a textured pattern this will not normally be a problem. In a multicoloured work Spinni will often be used as one of the yarns and with its beautiful and characteristic structure it is a lovely element in the knitted fabric. Gauge Spinni: 3 mm needles = 26 sts/ 30 rowsSpinni + Alpaca 1: 3 mm needles = 24 sts/ 28 rowsSpinni + Alpaca 2: 3,5 mm needles = 20 sts/ 26 rowsSpinni + Silk Mohair: 4 mm needles= 18 sts/ 24 rows Material 100% wool (single ply)Meterage 600 m in 100 g | 300 m in 50gThe yarn is spun and dyed in Denmark

  • Isager Highland

    Isager Isager Highland

    Shipped within 1 business day

ISAGER HIGHLAND is spun from Peruvian sheep wool. The yarn is characterized by its lovely colors which are a mixture of different shades dyed into the wool before it is spun. The Highland yarn is not spun as tightly as Tvinni and therefore it is a softer yarn, which can still replace Tvinni and Alpaca 2. In softness and durability this yarn lies between these two yarns. The yarn is well suited for structured patterns and it does not twist when worked in the round. Highland works really well on its own, but can also be knitted together with our other yarns. Gauge Highland: 3mm = 26 sts / 30 rowsHighland + Alpaca 1: 3mm = 24 sts / 28 rowsHighland + Alpaca 2: 3.5mm = 20 sts / 26 rowsHighland + Silk Mohair: 4mm = 18 sts / 24 rows Material 100% woolMeterage 275 m in 50 gThe yarn is spun and dyed in Peru

  • Isager Soft Fine

    Isager Isager Soft Fine

    Shipped within 1 business day

Isager Soft Fine With its softness and brushed feel, ECO SOFT has become extremely popular, and we decided to introduce a similar but finer version. ISAGER SOFT is a tube yarn of cotton in which alpaca fibers are infused and it can only be produced as a thick yarn. ISAGER SOFT FINE has a core of silk on which a strand of alpaca and yak is added as a loopy bouclé, which is then finally brushed to make a fluffy yarn. Even if the production and the fibers are different to Isager Soft, we find quite a similarity in the textures of the two yarns. ISAGER SOFT FINE contains wool from yaks and the depth of the colors derives from the dark color of the yak wool, – exactly as we know from the S-colors of white and black wool. Its softness compares to Silk Mohair, knitting with this yarn, however, is a completely different experience, especially when knitting with one strand only. The yarn is unbelievable soft and our inhouse-name for this yarn is ‘Isager’s cashmere’. • Sale -4% Isager Merilin

    Isager Isager Merilin

    Shipped within 1 business day

Merilin Meaning "Mer"-ino and "Lin"-en, ISAGER MERILIN is a 3-ply yarn made from a blend of 80% wool and 20% linen. As the yarn is 3-ply it works really well in textured patterns. It is a very soft yarn and can be used by many who are otherwise allergic to wool. The linen fibre places itself smoothly over the wool and this gives a lovely melé effect to the yarn, as the linen does not absorb the wool dye. The yarn works well in children’s garments. • Knitting for Olive Soft Silk Mohair

Knitting for Olive Knitting for Olive Soft Silk Mohair

    Shipped within 1 business day

Soft Silk Mohair Knitting for Olive Soft Silk Mohair is a luxurious blend of the finest Kid Mohair and Mulberry silk. Our Mohair comes from angora goats bred in South Africa, and the yarn is also produced locally. Our yarns are traceable back to the individual farms, which means we know exactly which farms, farmers, and goats our wool comes from. Our Mohair is certified sustainable and RMS (Responsible Mohair Standard). The yarn is produced with high respect for animal wellbeing, and with social responsibility. Our spinning mill follows ethical, technical and environmental standards, creating yarns free from harmful chemicals. The Silk in our Soft Silk Mohair is cruelty free. The silk fibres are collected from cocoons after the chrysalises are allowed to mature into moths and escape. This means that the silk worms are not killed in the process as they are in conventional silk production. The yarn is STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certified. We advise that Mohair is not particularly suitable for children 1 year old and under, since the lightweight Mohair fibers, while perfectly safe, can cause mild irritation if babies get them in their mouths. Knitting for Olive Soft Silk Mohair can be used together with a strand from a companion yarn.
